PLAYS by Patty Zeitlin
Patty wrote the music, lyrics and scripts and performed with the Troubadour Puppeteers in the following plays as an accompanist, mostly in Watts and East Los Angeles through a government grant funded series of shows.

The two plays listed next are more recent.
LONG AGO, RIGHT HERE…(with live actors) co-authored the play with Nancy Iremonger. Patty wrote the lyrics, music and most of the script. It ran in Seattle at the Little Theatre Off Broadway, under the direction of Tania Pettiford-Waits, then in Portland at the American Jewish community Center. A revised version was also performed at the Seattle Children’s Theatre in a summer session.
Long Ago, Right Here is about a young girl who is bullied by a clique of wealthier girls, until she is mentored by a wise, magical older women (accused by the same girls, of witchcraft) Given an opportunity for revenge against her oppressor, Melsey makes a different choice, and everyone learns from it. Questions for the audience about bullying follow the play.
LITTLE RABBIT’S REALLY ROTTEN BIRTHDAY…A musical puppet play for young children. In this story, Little Rabbit, believing his family has forgotten his birthday, leaves home. He meets Captain Caralettuce, Mr. Cider, the Garden Spider, Rahmoon, the Raccoon, and The Magic moon Mother, to find his way home again to celebrate. Music, lyrics, script and creation of puppets by Patty. The play is presently being performed in Kentucky by Sue and Andy Blyth.

THE ROOTS Of PEACE…Patty has also written this one act play for adults (No music or puppets) about a conflict between two mature women, and a miraculous event that leads not only to a peaceful resolution, but to a true friendship. It is based on a true story, and has never been performed. Scripts are available for anyone who is interested.
WOMEN OF WISDOM Conference 2008, wrote the script and skits for a new book by Kris Stennes about WOW. The production was about the collection of talks in the book given by women at past WOW conferences, and about the Women’s Movement.
